Two is a coincidence, three is a pattern, this is the fourth time. Something about summer makes me want to redesign my website. But this time it's different!

Since last summer, this website is in a constant state of being designed. I change and improve things fairly regularly. But now that it's been a year since I redesigned the website to be lived-in, I felt it was time for some bigger changes. NOT a full redesign like before, this will be the first summer since 2023 that I don't do a full website redesign. But I did make some changes to make the site feel more like me.

The biggest change is probably adding color. I love color and color variety, but you couldn't tell at all by how the website was. It was just white and blue. I added more colors through the tags, and changed the blue tones a little.

The website is still very much pared down when it comes to colors, but I can always change things over time. I don't want to make it a big project, just change things as I go. Who knows? Maybe one day I get rid of the blue altogether, but now it would be too big of a change.

I've lately been thinking a lot about design for my real space. If I could, I'd paint all the walls of our apartment with a color (not white, gray or beige), so then, why are the "walls" of my website white?" Of course, a website isn't the same as an apartment, and it's important that it's user-friendly and legible. But it does make me reflect about how I use color here.

Another thing I redesigned is the hero section, the first section you see when opening the site. The old one only allowed for 6 links, and I'm working on adding a new page, so I had to think of something else. One thing I'm unsure about with new design is that it's not as obvious that the drawings are links because unless you hover on them, their titles don't appear. I hope that it is still intuitive enough, but I'd love to know if you doubted or were confused by the design.

You might also have noticed that buttons now have texture! I did it with oil pastels and the color burn blend mode.

I just realized I used a very similar green to the one I added in the tags!

Another thing I added is a place where you can draw and send me a heart! I invite you to investigate, click around and find that place! I'll give you this hint: reach the foot.
