Creating an animation loop for lofi music
I often listen to lofi music when working, creating, relaxing, doing chores… Even more so lately, maybe it’s a summer thing. And I’ve been thinking about creating a lofi video with an animation loop.
Music isn’t in my expertise at all so the music is from actual lofi artists (see credits in video description). Animation is also not in my expertise, I only dipped my toes on it in an illustration course a few months ago, when I had to create GIFs for a project. But I like to draw and try new things, so I figured I’d try to animate a blueberry (aka nabiu!) working on a laptop.
I drew the scene a few days ago when the idea popped in my head. It doesn’t have the best perspective, to be honest, but we can ignore that!

This past weekend, I created the animation on Sketchbook (tablet), then added color in Photoshop and exported all frames, and put the video together in Premiere Pro, with music and text.
It was quite fun to create and I’m happy with how the animation turned out! I think it has a cozy, slow, uplifting vibe, especially paired with the music.
The goal with this video was for it to accompany 30-min of focused work, maybe to do that one task that you feel stuck with or get a good start of your work. But it can also be for chilling, reading, drawing, anything!

I have a newsletter where I send out new posts (and maybe extra stuff too)
